Stillness by the Sea is a sound, meditation, and wellness practice rooted in presence, connection, and gentle support, inspired by the rhythm of the sea in Newport—our home for gathering, rest, and listening. Led by husband and wife Will and Tara, who guide gatherings.

Why Stillness by the Sea

Stillness by the Sea is rooted in place and presence. We host in-person gatherings across Aquidneck Island in thoughtfully chosen spaces, including yoga studios, churches, community rooms, and private venues.

Each gathering is intentionally small and unhurried, designed to support rest, listening, and connection through sound, meditation, and gentle movement. Our focus is not performance or perfection, but creating space to slow down and arrive just as you are.

Meet Will and Tara

Stillness by the Sea is guided by two facilitators devoted to presence, care, and shared stillness.

Will Saja

Co-Facilitator

Will Saja is passionate about supporting others in cultivating inner well-being through the practice of presence. After a successful 20-year career in Operations, Will made an intentional transition toward work centered on connection, listening, and service.

A graduate of Harvard, Will brings a grounded, peer-to-peer approach to his work, supporting individuals and small groups through practices rooted in mindfulness and meditation. He is especially drawn to one-on-one and group-based settings that foster trust, reflection, and shared presence.

Will is a Reiki I certified practitioner through Love Defeats Fear Yoga Studio and assists in sound, meditation, and gatherings alongside his wife, Tara. He continues to deepen his practice through ongoing study and mentorship, offering support with care, humility, and respect.

Tara Atwood-Saja

Lead Facilitator

Tara Atwood-Saja is a sound bath and meditation teacher devoted to creating spaces for rest, presence, and deeper self-awareness. Her work blends sound, meditation, gentle movement, and mindfulness practices to support clarity, focus, and mental well-being.

In parallel with her work in wellness, Tara is a senior finance leader at a publicly traded company. She brings these practices into modern professional life as tools to reduce stress, cultivate calm, and support thoughtful, grounded leadership.

Tara’s path to this work has been shaped by extensive study and travel, including training in yoga, meditation, sound therapy, and mindfulness in India, France, and Italy. Over nearly a decade, she has taught hundreds of classes and guided gatherings around the world. Through Stillness by the Sea, Tara invites people to slow down, listen inward, and reconnect with what matters most.
